About Local COMO Native, Ross Bridges, Managing Partner: Ross Bridges brings a unique blend of experiences to VBM Law. Ross holds degrees in Criminal Justice and Spanish and he served in the United States Marine Corps, including a deployment in Iraq. He and his family are active members of the Crossing Church in Columbia and since 2011 Ross continues to make a significant impact as a board member and volunteer with Welcome Home, Inc., a nonprofit providing transitional housing for homeless military veterans. Ross is licensed in Missouri and Kansas and focuses his practice in the areas of workers’ compensation, insurance subrogation law and the civil liability defense of public entities. He also serves as a mentor to VBM team members, fostering growth and career advancement across multiple functions. Ross enjoys all things outdoors and Mizzou sports.
Accounts Receivable Coordinator Position Overview: Seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable Coordinator with prior experience. Applicants should have e-billing experience including the ability to edit, finalize and submit invoices and appeals to various e-billing websites.
Essential job functions include:
Ability to effectively communicate and interact with attorneys, administrative and support staff and clients.
Provide superior service to internal and external clients by ensuring timely billing and collections.
Prepare billing including editing, finalizing and submitting and follow up.
Review and verify accuracy of billing and supporting documentation as required.
Prepare bill reports, fee and disbursement summaries, and other ad-hoc reports as needed.
Prepare, submit and follow up of appeal requests.
Understand and comply with individual client billing guidelines.
Understand and apply firm billing policies.
Research and respond to inquiries regarding billing issues and problems.
Establish and maintain client billing files and billing notes for each attorney.
Observe and maintain confidentiality of client and firm matters.
Assist with any special accounting projects as needed.

Qualified candidates are driven, collaborative, organized, and service-oriented, who have:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Previous experience in billing, invoicing, or accounts receivable role is desirable.
Proficiency in billing software or accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve billing discrepancies or issues efficiently.
Knowledge of billing practices, regulations, and industry standards.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
