    Job Description

    The Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations including supervising a team of Accounts Receivable staff.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervise Accounts Receivable staff
    • Responsible for AR quarterly staff evaluations/performance goals, training, and work schedules
    • Supervise and coordinate the generation of daily AR invoices and monthly statements
    • Manage daily processing of AR activities
    • Serve as liaison for external auditors relating to AR
    • Manage day-to-day AR operations and ensure that there is a redundant process backup in place for every critical operation
    • Monitor emerging technology to determine ways to automate the AR without sacrificing accuracy and accountability
    • Develop monthly and quarterly accounting reports for management
    • Review and refine policies and internal control procedures
    • Partner with the Chief Financial Officer and other management on special projects
    • Identifying and using metrics to evaluate, improve, and coordinate all AR processes to ensure maximum efficiency and quality service, as well as to provide proactive feedback on areas of improvement.
    • Maintain customer files and correspond with customers and respond to inquiries
    • Develop and maintain a set of controls to ensure the department is handling all day-to-day functios timely and efficiently
    • Create and report on AR activities to Senior Management that highlight the results of the AR activity on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis. Such reports include, but are not limited to, Cash collections to goal, past due report and graph by business segment

    ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to travel independently within company headquarters and in other communities to attend various meetings.
    • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus as necessary to read a computer monitor, catalogs, orders, price lists and customer communications, etc.
    • Ability to converse verbally and in writing as this job requires frequent communications with customers, sales staff and others.

    MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to work under stress, interruptions and tight deadlines.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information that is in English.
    • Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information and respond to questions from supervisors, customers and independent sales representatives.
    • Ability to prioritize work, problem solve and answer questions.

    ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS:

    • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, in the English language, as this is essential to communicating information to supervisors, coworkers and customers in a way that they can understand. Must be able to communicate in a knowledgeable manner on various Fortessa products/services.
    • Ability to operate office equipment, phone system and company software.
    • Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills with the ability to work proficiently with database applications.
    • Ability to make notes from discussions (i.e., company meetings, phone conversations, training, etc.)

    INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

    • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with staff and outside contacts in English so as to facilitate training and better understanding of the topic.
    • Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information and respond to questions from other managers, co-workers and vendors.

    Additional Information

    Position open to all US residents legally authorized to work in the US.

    Prioritized consideration will be given to local candidates within the DC/Maryland/Virginia area.

    Full-time position (40-hour work week); 8-hour shift Monday through Friday.

    Flexibility to work from home two days a week after training completion.
