Position Overview:
JRG Partners is searching for a meticulous and experienced Acoustical Ceiling Estimator to join our client’s team in Boston, MA. Our client, a leader in commercial interior solutions, is looking for an estimator who excels in precision bidding and cost analysis for commercial projects, including office buildings, healthcare facilities, schools, and retail spaces. This role is essential in delivering accurate bids, managing client expectations, and supporting successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate Estimating: Prepare detailed estimates for acoustical ceiling systems, including materials, labor, and time, ensuring bids are competitive and align with project specifications.
- Bid Preparation: Review project blueprints, specifications, and client requirements to develop clear, comprehensive bids within designated timeframes.
- Material Takeoffs: Perform precise material takeoffs from construction documents, with attention to detail and accuracy in materials and quantities.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Partner with vendors and subcontractors to secure accurate pricing, verify availability, and ensure prompt material delivery.
- Client and Team Collaboration: Collaborate with clients, sales teams, and project managers to confirm project scope, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Documentation: Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and project financials for each project, providing transparency and ease of access for review.
- Industry Awareness: Stay updated on pricing trends, new materials, and innovative methods in acoustical ceiling systems for accurate and competitive bidding.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in estimating will also be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years as an estimator, ideally in acoustical ceiling systems or related commercial interiors.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in estimating software (such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar) and able to interpret construction drawings and project specifications.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong mathematical and analytical skills with an eye for detail, essential for accurate cost analysis and bid development.
- Communication Skills: Skilled in both written and verbal communication for effective collaboration with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Organizational Ability: Able to manage multiple bids, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
