Overview
Project Performer is a performing arts studio in Encinitas, CA, dedicated to providing high-quality training in acting, singing, and dance. Our mission is to help young performers develop strong technique while fostering creativity, confidence, and self-expression in a supportive and professional environment.
Responsibilities
As an Acting Instructor, you will guide students in developing their acting skills, confidence, and stage presence. Success in this role is measured by student retention, engagement, and quarterly teacher check-ins.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching acting classes for students of various levels, from beginners (ages 5+) to advanced teens
Designing engaging lesson plans that focus on character development, scene work, improvisation, and script analysis
Helping students improve vocal projection, movement, and emotional connection in performances
Preparing students for auditions, showcases, and performances
Providing constructive feedback to help students grow in confidence and technique
Attending monthly Zoom staff meetings to collaborate with the team
Communicating effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a positive learning environment
Requirements
We are looking for instructors who align with our studio’s values and meet the following qualifications:
Previous acting teaching experience required
Strong understanding of acting techniques, including but not limited to Meisner, Stanislavski, and Uta Hagen
Experience working with students of varying levels, from young beginners to pre-professional teens
Ability to teach script analysis, scene study, monologues, and improvisation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students and parents
Passion for mentoring and inspiring young performers
Experience in audition coaching or college prep is a plus
Professionalism in punctuality, preparedness, and classroom management
