Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Activities Assistant to join our team. You will play a crucial role in supporting the planning, organization, and execution of recreational programs and events for our residents/clients. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational activities and programs for residents/clients, including arts and crafts, games, entertainment, and outings.
- Engage with residents/clients to encourage participation in activities, cultivating a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Set up and clean up before and after events, ensuring all materials and supplies are prepared and in good condition.
- Monitor and assist participants during activities to ensure safety and enjoyment.
- Collaborate with the Activities Coordinator and other staff to develop new program ideas that meet the diverse interests and needs of the community.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and feedback on activities.
- Assist with the transportation of residents/clients to and from activities or events as needed.
- Provide support in promoting activities through newsletters, flyers, and social media platforms.
- Ensure that all equipment and materials used during activities are properly maintained and stored.
- Uphold and promote the policies and procedures of the organization, respecting the dignity and rights of all residents/clients.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in recreation, leisure studies, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a similar role or working with diverse populations (seniors, children, individuals with disabilities) is preferred.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a caring and compassionate approach.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.

Working Conditions:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- May require physical stamina to assist in transporting materials and participating in activities.
- Work will primarily be done in community areas, recreational spaces, or outdoor settings.
