    Reports to: Director of Celebrations

    Job Summary:
    We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Activities Assistant to join our team. The Activities Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the planning, organization, and implementation of various recreational and social activities for our residents/students/clients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for engaging with individuals, promoting social interaction, and enhancing the overall quality of life through diverse activities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Assist in the planning and execution of daily, weekly, and special events and activities.
    - Collaborate with the Activities Coordinator to develop engaging programs that cater to the interests and needs of residents/students/clients.
    - Set up and take down activities and events, ensuring all materials and equipment are prepared and organized.
    - Encourage participation in activities by promoting upcoming events and providing information to residents/students/clients.
    - Gather feedback from participants to help improve future activities and programs.
    - Provide support to residents/students/clients during activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
    - Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment used for activities, reporting any shortages or needs to the Activities Coordinator.
    - Assist in documenting participation and outcomes of activities for reporting and evaluation purposes.
    - Foster a positive environment that promotes community and social interaction among participants.
    - Assist with transportation needs for off-site activities when necessary.
    - Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe environment for all participants.

    **Qualifications: **

    - High school diploma or equivalent; further education in recreational therapy, education, social work, or a related field is a plus.
    - Previous experience in a recreational, educational, or social services role preferred.
    - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse population.
    - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    - Flexible schedule, with availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
    - Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box to create engaging activities.
    - CPR and First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
    - Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in improving the well-being of others.
