JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for directing the development, implementation, supervision and ongoing evaluation of the activities program. This person should be responsible for ensuring that activities are scheduled and implemented, and also for monitoring the responses to activity programs to determine if the activities meet the assessed needs of the resident, and making revisions as necessary.
DUTIES:
1. Responsible for all charting on short term patients on Rehab hall in PCC, and must be completed in a timely manner.
2. When a hall activity leader is scheduled off or calls in, the Activity Director will assist in covering that hall.
3. Charting in PCC in must be signed and completed in a timely manner.
4. Complete discharge charts in a timely manner.
5. Create monthly activity calendars.
6. Complete monthly schedule for activities department staff.
7. Create small group activity calendar, room reservations calendar, and large group schedule calendar.
8. Perform all shopping for activity supplies and food.
9. Maintain activity monthly budget with expenditures, order/purchase supplies for upcoming activities and turn in all receipts in a timely manner.
10. Conduct regular meetings with activities staff.
11. Call CARTS weekly for resident independent/assisted shopping trips.
12. Attend department head morning meeting daily and care plan meeting weekly.
13. Responsible for ensuring all one-to- one activities are completed (Including large group, small group, and one-to-one activates)
14. Complete Quality Assurance Subcommittee Report documentation and turn in to designated staff quarterly/as needed.
15. Attend quality QA meetings.
16. Responsible for volunteers, including acquiring new, education and helping with activities.
17. Must continually plan and come up with new activities and outing as able.
18. Complete activity staff evaluations in a timely manner.
19. Responsible for planning and conducting Ms. HNRC pageant, and in the case of resident making top 10 must coordinate all aspects of resident attending.
20. Document and keep up with staff absences/call-ins and turn in to appropriate staff as needed.
21. Maintain/Update Facebook page. Take pictures on site- then write articles for special events in which HNRC participates and post them on our Facebook page.
22. Organize (plan, decorate, get prizes etc) parties for department celebration weeks.
23. Any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school or equivalent diploma
2. Experience in a heath care setting over a 2-year period
3. Licensed or registered by the State as an Activities Director, unless otherwise agreed upon with Administrator.
4. CNA certification
5. Excellent organizational, leadership and computer skills
