    _ Job Summary_

    The Life Enrichment Assistant supports delivering meaningful opportunities to residents by helping to develop and execute programming incorporating the Six Dimensions of Wellness under the direction of the Director of Life Enrichment. The programming shall reflect individual differences in social, physical, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, and emotional preferences. Opportunities will be delivered for a variety of types and levels of involvement. The working schedule must be flexible, including evening and weekend obligations.

    _ Essential Functions_

    The following essential functions are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

    • Complete Life Stoy on occupancy agreement signing day or beforehand.
    • Be able to respond to flexible scheduling, including evening/weekend activities and MOD.
    • Help keep current records of all volunteers according to regulations.
    • Provide materials and lead activities for dementia residents.
    • Contribute to planning the Life Enrichment calendar according to the residents’ interests.
    • Align activities with the Six Dimensions of Wellness.
    • Help coordinate and supervise planned outings.
    • Maintain inventory of activity equipment and supplies.
    • Maintain the activity areas and straighten furniture after activities.
    • Prepare activities for the care team to conduct with residents.
    • Promote and encourage participation in activities.
    • Contribute to creation of the monthly newsletter.
    • Participate in the Life Enrichment monthly conference calls, as needed.
    • Maintain, restock, and refresh the life stations and Sensory Bins in Memory Care.
    • Shadow Boxes are decorated with the residents and updated seasonally.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    _ Required Education and Experience_

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • 1 to 2 years’ experience working with elderly.
    • Obtain and maintain chauffeur license within 90 days of hire.
