Summary:
The Actuarial Intern will work on one or more analytic projects during the course of the summer. The intern will work closely with Corporate Analytics leaders and analysts to support projects related to business imperatives. At the end of the internship, the intern will present on one or more projects to the Corporate Analytics leadership team.

Projects:
· Developing risk adjustment completion factors by analyzing differences in risk adjustment scores for different claims completion durations.
· Develop and enhance member level profitability models for various business lines.
· Develop a member cohort analysis by member duration in order to understand impact of new and existing populations on profitability.
· Maintain and/or establish new financial forecasting models to address evolving business needs.
· Responsibility for supporting corporate initiatives/projects that require analysis of health plan data.
What will you bring?
· Pursuance of college degree majoring in Actuarial Science, Finance, Health Care Administration, or related field required.
· Entering junior or senior year of undergraduate work, or entering graduate school.
· 1 or more actuarial exams passed.
· Prior internship or experience in a managed healthcare or other insurance environment.
· Working knowledge of MS tools, including MS Office products, MS Access. Should be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
· Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, problem-solve, and use appropriate technology to analyze business problems.
· Strong communications skills, both verbal and written, are required.
· Ability to work collaboratively with team members.
· Knowledge of SAS or SQL strongly preferred.
