Job Summary
At Alfa Insurance, our esteemed actuaries are entrusted with a range of crucial responsibilities that make substantial contributions to all actuarial functions. They diligently oversee the adequacy of rates, meticulously prepare resultant rate filings, offer their specialized expertise in areas such as loss reserves and reinsurance, and conduct comprehensive actuarial analyses for the benefit of our management team. Responsibilities
Help maintain a profitable and competitive rate structure, by reviewing rates for all lines of business (including actuarial indications and competitive analysis) and preparing rate filings.
Oversee rate filings and actuarial work product produced by lower-level staff and/or outside actuaries, to ensure actuarial soundness and accuracy.
Monitor and analyze statistical data relating to the financial well-being of the companies from an actuarial standpoint.
Support collaborative relationships with other Alfa departments including Finance, IT, Accounting, Marketing and Operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics required. A degree in Physics, Statistics or Economics may suffice provided there is a strong concentration of mathematics.
Must have membership in the Casualty Actuarial Society, with a minimum designation of Associate (ACAS) and have passed required exams to be capable of signing an Actuarial Opinion.
Must have at least 5 years of experience in the Actuarial field.
