Substance Abuse Counselor- ADT (Trainee)
Main Purpose of the Job We are looking for a full-time Alcohol Drug Trainee (ADT) to join our team. In this position you will be responsible for conducting chemical dependency assessments, maintaining a caseload of OP, IOP, and PHP clients, providing individualized care to clients who attend the program through 1:1 sessions, and facilitating groups. The ADT will provide an opportunity for individuals to learn how to live a positive, sober lifestyle while empowering them to make changes that will lead to successful independent living.
Essential Duties
Complete substance use disorder assessments, treatment plans, group notes, and other clinical documentation
The ability to verbally communicate with clients and staff in a clear and concise manner
Complete documentation daily for services provided
Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions
Facilitate substance use disorder groups
Take part in a multi-disciplinary team to maintain excellent client care and treatment
Be familiar with current approaches toward treatment pertaining to Substance-Related Disorders, Mental Health Disorders, and ICD-10 codes
Be familiar with COMAR regulations, DHMH, and CARF requirements
Job Qualifications
Applicants must currently hold an ADT status in the State of Maryland.
At least 1 year experience with a substance use disorder population (preferred)
Computer literate and experience working in electronic medical records systems
Ability to build rapport with clients
Possess sound judgement, professionalism, and compassion for client care

Salary: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
