Himes Breakfast House is a dynamic multi-unit restaurant company dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support the owner with administrative and payroll tasks.
Job Summary:
The Administrative Assistant will provide direct support to the owner by managing payroll and handling administrative duties. Familiarity with restaurant industry systems such as Toast, Aloha, Positouch, or Micros is preferred. A background in the restaurant industry is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll & Restaurant Operations Support
Process payroll accurately and timely for multiple restaurant locations.
Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with labor laws.
Assist with tracking employee hours and tip reporting.
Work with restaurant management to ensure smooth payroll processing.
Utilize restaurant POS systems Toast (experience with Aloha, Positouch, Micros is a plus) for data entry, reporting, and troubleshooting.
General Administrative Duties
Handle email and phone correspondence on behalf of the owner.
Schedule and coordinate meetings, travel, and appointments.
Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and other business documents.
Manage and organize files, records, and confidential information.
Order office and restaurant supplies as needed.
Assist in HR-related tasks such as onboarding and maintaining personnel files.
Communicate with vendors, landlords, and other business contacts.
Qualifications & Skills:
Previous experience in an administrative role (preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry).
Experience processing payroll and knowledge of payroll systems.
Familiarity with Aloha, Positouch, Micros, or similar restaurant POS systems.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working in the restaurant industry.
Knowledge of scheduling software and restaurant back-office systems.
Understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
