Major Duties (Job Description)
- You will serve as an Employee Relations Specialist and Civilian Awards Program Manager for NAVWAR.
- You will provide oversight of scheduling, coordinating, and releasing all official awards calls across the command to solicit nominations
- You will provide award oversight to the Awards administrator in the processing of awards; preparing program correspondence; maintaining a database of all civilian awards granted.
- You will maintain a current awards website; ordering award artifacts and certificates and managing inventory; and researching innovative recognition techniques that meet command goals.
- You will lead and collaborate to execute NAVWAR hybrid award ceremonies.
- You will prepare notices of proposed disciplinary and adverse action letters of decisions.
- You will advise on Department of Navy table of penalty guides and assist managers in conducting fact findings or inquiries.
- You will develop and recommends policies, plans and implementation methods/actions concerning employee-management communications, grievances and appeals, employee counseling, and employee services.
- You will provide advice and assistance to employees, supervisors and officials on individual disciplinary and adverse action cases.
- You will deal with cases that are often sensitive and serious (i.e. discrimination, moral etc.) requiring extreme tact, skill and technical knowledge in dealing with all persons or groups involved.
- You will develop and conduct training programs in employee relations for staff officials and all levels of management.
Qualification Summary
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing advisory services in order to resolve non-controversial and/or moderately complex issues; assists with drafting updates to policies, and developing plans for program implementation and/or facilitating training on the diverse employee or workforce relations programs.
