Advanced Practice Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)

In this role, you will assist patients during intake and follow-up appointments, create individualized medical plans, and offer the necessary medical support for their recovery. This position reports to the Medical Director. This position should work closely with the Program Director, Lead Counselor, and Medical Director to provide comprehensive clinical care to patients.
This Cedar Recovery location is an Opioid Treatment Program (OTP), offering Medication Assisted Treatment in the form of Methadone to Knoxville, TN.
Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Patient Assessment : Conduct thorough evaluations, including substance use history, medical/psychiatric history, physical exams, and necessary lab tests. Evaluate for co-occurring mental health disorders.
- Diagnosis and Treatment Planning : Provide diagnoses and formulate differential diagnoses. Develop individualized treatment plans with the patient and team, including MAT, counseling, and support.
- Medication Management : Order and manage MAT (via methadone). Determine and adjust dosages, monitor effectiveness and side effects, and educate patients on medication.
- Coordination of Care : Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. Make referrals for specialized care and communicate with other providers.
- Documentation and Compliance : Maintain accurate documentation. Ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., 42 CFR Part 2, DEA) and agency policies.
- Continuous Quality Improvement : Stay current with best practices. Participate in quality assurance and contribute to program development.
- Patient Education and Support : Educate patients and families. Offer support and address stigma.
- Team Engagement : Actively contribute to an interdisciplinary team, prioritizing patient care.
Job Requirements
- Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with and unrestricted license
- DEA License and DEA X-Waiver in good standing
- No reportable items to the National Practitioner Data Bank within the last ten (10) years
- Active TennCare Number
- One year of experience in treatment of opioid or other substance use disorders, preferably methadone treatment
