    Job Summary: The oversight of pain management and responsible opioid prescribing is an essential clinical practice. The Rehabilitation Medicine Associate’s vision is to inspire positive change in skilled nursing facilities and empower these facilities to provide the best pain management outcomes possible for patients. We provide on-site pain management care, working side by side with primary care providers to prevent functional decline, decrease pain, and reduce hospital admissions. Position Details: Rehabilitation Medicine Associates is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who is passionate about quality of life and pain management. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing quality care to patients in skilled nursing facilities and assisted living facilities. The position is Monday-Friday business hours and a rotating call schedule. We offer flexible FTE (0.8 or 1.0). Job Description: At RMA we pride ourselves on managing acute and chronic pain onsite in skilled nursing facilities. Having pain providers onsite to treat pain is critical. APPs will provide specialized care to patients who suffer from various pain conditions such as musculoskeletal, neuropathic, or centralized pain. APPs assess the risk of opioid-related problems and implement strategies to prevent or address them including urine drug screening, risk assessment tools, prescription drug monitoring databases, and patient education. APPs coordinate care with other providers such as primary care physicians and APPs, nurses, therapists, and palliative care teams to ensure a patient-centered approach. Having pain management services onsite minimizes the need for families and staff to have to coordinate and pay for transportation to outside pain management facilities. Responsibilities: Responsibilities: • Provide pain management services to patients residing in skilled nursing facilities in Minneapolis, MN, and surrounding suburbs • Conduct comprehensive assessments to accurately determine the needs of patients • Deliver diagnoses and treatments for acute and chronic pain conditions • Prescribe medications and suggest alternative therapies as part of a holistic patient care strategy • Educate patients and their families on health conditions • Collaborate with diverse healthcare teams to ensure efficient patient care delivery • Maintain precise and up-to-date medical records in the EHR Qualifications: Required Qualifications: • Masters degree or higher and completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program • Minimum 1-2 years working as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, pain management experience preferred but not required • Valid driver's license and auto insurance Pay Range: $130,000-$140,000 annually. The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors but not limited to your experience and education.
