    Organization Overview:

OurCalling is a nonprofit ministry founded in 2009 that is dedicated to serving the unsheltered homeless community in Dallas County. Our goal is to help our neighbors walk with Jesus and get off the streets into a healthy community. OurCalling operates a daytime outreach center that offers various unique services to Dallas’ homeless population, including a zero-barrier entry (no ID required), daily meals, showers, laundry, clothing services, and the opportunity to meet with Care Ministers who help individuals off the streets. OurCalling’s facility also brings in services provided by community partners such as Parkland, North Texas Food Bank, and the Veterans Association. OurCalling’s street outreach teams visit our unsheltered homeless neighbors where they are – under bridges, in the woods, behind abandoned buildings – building relationships and ministering to their tangible needs. Last year, OurCalling facilitated 1,359 placements that led to people exiting homelessness.

OurCalling has recently completed funding for Phase 1 of OurCommunity, with construction and program planning underway. OurCommunity will be a 500-tiny home neighborhood development that will provide comprehensive and relational care for formerly homeless residents who are at higher risk of dying on the streets and need long-term care. At the heart of this tiny home community will be a service building with wrap-around support services, including a chapel, a medical clinic, a cafe, mental health care, counseling, and more, all designed to minister to both the spiritual and physical needs of our friends. It will be the largest housing project for the formerly homeless in the history of North Texas. Fundraising for this project will continue over the next several years.

    • Provide support to CAO and other team members for advancement projects as needed.
