We are currently seeking an Estimator to join our team at our facility located in Colorado Springs, CO, 80907. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations by accurately estimating project costs and timelines. The Esimator mus be able to read and understand job construction and material requirements for precision sheet metal, machining, and finishing. Estimate job costs via materials list, required labor, and production steps. Use knowledge of production operations to devise the most cost-effective means of timely delivery of quality products to customers while maintaining the profitability of jobs. Build relationships with customers’ engineering and purchasing teams to create a preferred vendor status for metal fabrication needs.
Communicate with and process customer requests for fabricated metal or plastic parts.
Analyze project specifications and blueprints to determine material, labor, timeline, and equipment requirements.
Create accurate job cost estimates within the Job Boss- E2 ERP system.
Ability to read blueprints, translate dimensions from fractions to decimals, and understand weld symbols.
Familiar with CAD programs / Solid works to retrieve missing or unclear customer-supplied models.
Quickly identify inaccuracies or problems within product prints and documentation.
Turn around customer quotes quickly and within expected operating costs.
Review and adjust estimates as needed based on project changes or additional information.
Understand in detail the steps for fabricating precision sheet metal jobs such as laser cutting, shearing, press brake operations, and various welding processes.
Understand in detail the steps for precision machining of various metals and plastics in manual or CNC-controlled multi-axis mills and lathes.
Must understand multiple facets of producing fabricated parts. Experinece in precesion sheet metal, machining, welding, and finishing processes are essential.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for cost estimation.
Must possess the ability to communicate with customers with high confidence while working to influence a positive outcome for both Supplier and the Customer as an end goal.
Must possess a strong ability to use written and oral communication skills in
effectively documenting customer requirements.
**Work Environment **
This position is in a manufacturing shop environment that is clean and fast paced. Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time may be required. Some exposure to noise and various types of equipment is typical.
**Schedule **
The required schedule for this position is Shift 1 - 6:00 AM – 2:30PM. Additional time may be required on an as needed basis.
**Compensation **
Compensation for this position will start at $31.00 – $34.00per hour depending on experience. Benefits are available after a waiting period and include, shared cost health care, paid holidays, paid time off, and 401k with company match.
