ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBLITIES
Troubleshoot Computer Numerical Control (CNC) multi-axis milling machines and associated automatic equipment including:
fielding technical support phone calls and emails from customers
remote online training and troubleshooting
Traveling on site to customer’s facilities when necessary
Perform startup commissioning and training on new CNC multi-axis milling machines and associated automatic equipment on site at customer’s facilities
Use CAD to create and modify 3D models of components
Draft CAM programs from the 3D models to produce products
QUALIFICATIONS
4-year engineering degree or 2-year technical degree in a related field required
2 years of experience with Autodesk CAM or similar CAM software
Training and/or experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar software
BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF:
Drafting standards, dimensioning, and tolerances
Mechanical power relationships such as horsepower, torque, speed
Manufacturing processes
Electrical systems including motors, AC drives, and control circuits
PLCs and associated components
Electrical and hydraulic schematics
Other training/experience in the following is a plus, but isn’t required:
Autodesk Inventor, VBA, ePLAN or similar CAD software
Milling machines
Ladder logic programming
Siemens TIA portal
Strong verbal and written interpersonal/communication skills required
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities
Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
Available for 12 to 14 weeks of travel per year
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is an office position associated with a manufacturing facility. The employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required by the employer when in the manufacturing area.
