Our dynamic and talented staff work together to help Brevard County families permanently break the cycle of homelessness. In our long-term transformational program, women with children receive housing, access to health care, education, financial coaching, job training, Bible study and life skills classes in a safe, Christ-centered residential setting. The program is designed to lovingly transform families from dependency to self-sufficiency through daily accountability, personal responsibility and goal advancement.
Kids Academy and Kids Club serve all children in the New Life Mission program with the goal of providing a loving, caring and safe learning environment that encourages and promotes development in the areas of physical, social, emotional, spiritual and intellectual growth.

AFTER-CARE/KIDS CLUB COORDINATOR (Approx 10-25+ Hours per Week)
SUMMARY OF POSITION: The After-Care coordinator is responsible for providing Christ-centered, creative, and safe after-school care for preschool and school-aged children. The coordinator is directly responsible for the supervision and coordination of the After-Care Program/Kids Club, planning and organizing all after-care activities, and implementing the program policies and procedures.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: • Provide a high-quality learning environment and manage activities that extend the school day in a Christian atmosphere. • Ensure the classroom is a clean, safe, and organized environment in accordance with program goals and philosophy, safety, and wellness. • Prepare for lessons by gathering materials and setting up workstations. • Write reports for parents on each child's developmental progress. • Maintain open communication with Kids Academy Director, staff and New Life Students! • Encourage and supervise volunteers. • Keep accident reports, maintain confidentiality, report any suspected child abuse in accordance with Florida abuse reporting requirements. • Ensure safety and security of enrolled participants • Implement the program’s mission and goals • Manage and supervise all after care/ kid’s club operations and coordinate with the kid’s academy manager, and staff. • Train KC/After-Care staff • Supervise and coach the staff and promote their professional growth and development • Maintain the staff work schedule and calendar • Organize program logistics, such as schedules, lesson plans, snack, space, supply requests, and other needs. • Build and maintain positive relationships with all children, parents, school staff and administration • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records • Report any problems which arise with children, other employees, students, or the school to the Director of School Operations • Follow and enforce program policies and procedures
PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT • Be able to lift children up to 50 pounds. • Be able to walk, bend, stand, squat, or sit on the floor (with children). • Be able to physically respond quickly in an emergency. • Be actively engaged and involved with children each day. • Plan daily outdoor time in all ranges of temperatures or humidity levels, subject to safety guidelines. • Be able to drive and operate company vehicle.
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: • A heart for children • Administrative Skills • A willingness to learn with a cooperative spirit. • Excellent interpersonal skills and awareness of social/emotional learning • Experience working with children in a classroom is preferred. • Experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred but not required. • Ability to be flexible in scheduling to meet the needs of the overall program. • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. • Honesty, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality • Imagination and sense of humor • All potential candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age and complete a background check and drug screen prior to employment.
WAGES/HOURS/ETC. • Wage is dependent on work experience, skillset and education • Background Check and drug screen required, valid FL driver’s license • Christian Beliefs must be in alignment with New Life Mission’s Statement of Faith (on website) • Position located in Melbourne, FL
