    PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVE

    An After School Camp Driver for our School Age Child Care (SACC) program is a positive role model who maintains safety and provides an encouraging experience as they transport campers from their elementary schools in a 9-person passenger van to PCC.

    PRINCIPLE WORKING RELATIONSHIP Under the direct supervision of the Peninsula Covenant Church (PCC) School Aged Child Care Program Manager, the After School Camp Driver is responsible for the safety, supervision, and transportation of 4-12 year old campers. They are a representation of PCC School Age Child Care to Redwood City families and the people who share the PCC campus with SACC.

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Command the attention of and lead camper groups from schools to PCC

    Learn and enforce van rules and policies

    Excellent with children and able to supervise children during the transitions from school dismissal to the van to PCC

    Help campers develop socially and emotionally

    Engage campers to be the best version of themselves

    Leave it better than we found it

    Check the van before and after driving for safety, cleanliness, maintenance needs

    Communicate maintenance needs to the office staff

    Pick children up from schools and drive them to PCC (in PCC’s vehicles) safely, joyfully, and calmly

    Safely navigate Redwood City to transport campers to PCC

    Learn and enforce van rules

    EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    21+ years old with a valid driver's license and clean driving record

    Ability to drive a 9-seat passenger van

    Undergo a background check, medical clearance, and mandated reporter training

    CPR/1st certified within 3 months of start date

    Be outdoors for the majority of the time, wearing appropriate protective equipment for sun exposure (sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, etc)

    Stand and move around 90% or more - able to maintain a highly active position, interacting with children and helping them to develop strong social-emotional skills every day

    Able to lift and transport up to 30 pounds of equipment

    Provide energy and enthusiasm on a daily basis

    WORKWEEK

    Monday-Friday between the hours of 11:15 and 3:30 (driving times are based on schools' "regular", "minimum", and "super minimum" dismissal times)
