Long Island STEAM Group is looking for energetic and dynamic individuals to conduct fun and engaging after-school STEAM programs (in any of these topics: Science, Lego, Art or Chess) during the winter and spring semesters at various elementary schools on Long Island. A teaching or education background is a plus, but is not required. This is a part-time position for 3 to 5 afternoons per week.
Benefits for you: exposure to a low-pressure, high-enjoyment classroom teaching experience with elementary students of mixed ages using a structured enrichment program with fun subject-oriented activities.
Requirements:
You must be available at least 3-5 afternoons per week between the hours of 2pm and 5pm
Good communication skills, attention to detail, and a joyful approach to teaching
Experience working with children ages 6-11
Access to your own reliable transportation
Outgoing and engaging personality
A background in art, science, teaching, chess, or Lego-building is desirable, but not required.

We are the provider of Mad Science, Crayola Imagine Arts Academy, Schoolhouse Chess, and Brixology, and have been bringing leaning programs to the children of Long Island for over 20 years. We take pride in merging education with entertainment with engaging presentations for children when they are most receptive to learning.
