    At Mad Science of Hampton Roads, we are having a blast teaching kids science! Build and fly rockets, demonstrate lasers, explore the states of matter using dry ice, and help children create slime. You will inspire the next generation of scientists through our innovative activities that show kids what science is really about.

    Job Summary

    As a Mad Scientist teaching in our After School Science Enrichment Programs, you will lead students through an inquiry-based discovery method involving instructor demonstrations, hands-on activities, and amazing take-home projects. We get kids excited about how science affects the world around us.

    Get paid $18/hour (typically total of 2 hours with set-up & breakdown)

    Responsibilities

    Facilitating a one-hour after-school science enrichment program using a pre-set, easy-to-understand curriculum.

    Each session is high-energy. It’s part entertainment, part education, through a hands-on after-school class that meets for one hour each week for 5-8 weeks.

    Manage class of 12-25 elementary students

    Qualifications

    Experience working with GROUPS of children ages 5-11 is a must

    Minimum of 1 year of college

    A valid driver's license and reliable car

    Available between 3:00-5:30 pm a minimum of 3 afternoons a week, one of which is Friday afternoons

    Comfortable submitting to a background check

    Fun and outgoing personality!
