Position: Part-time Afterschool Instructor

Schedule: Monday - Friday (3-5 days/week), 2:30pm - 6pm Locations: Dripping Springs, Del Valle, South Austin area

Job Description Join our team at iKids U as an enthusiastic and motivated Afterschool Instructor! This is a part-time position where you will lead children and deliver a diverse range of age-appropriate fun afterschool classes and activities to foster children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. The ideal candidate will have had prior experience working with children and a genuine dedication to the field of child development. Some examples of applicable experience would be past experience enjoying jobs such as camp counselors, teachers, long-term nannies, daycare providers, parents/guardians, PTA volunteers who worked directly in afterschool.

No lesson plan writing or creation, you'll follow our easy-to-follow scope and sequence

Responsibilities:

Lead preschool and elementary-age children in age-appropriate provided afterschool activities including beginner Spanish and STEM classes (you don't need to be an expert in these but capable of reading and leading a fun ready-made lesson plan!)

Supervise children during afterschool hours

Foster positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and school clients

Maintain a safe and welcoming play-based learning environment

Check kids in and out of your classroom using our iPads and childcare online system for communicating with families and head office

Qualifications:

High school diploma required; bachelor's in education or related field preferred

Previous experience in childcare, education, or related settings preferred

Understanding of child development and behavior management

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Follow through and professionalism

A willingness to learn and take on the care of a dozen students each class period

CPR and First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days of job start
