Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Agricultural Diesel Mechanic
to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered agricultural equipment, including tractors, combines, sprayers, and other farm machinery. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components on agricultural machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions using diagnostic tools and manuals.
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble engines and components as needed.
- Calibrate and adjust machinery for optimal efficiency.
- Maintain accurate service records and complete necessary documentation for repairs and maintenance.
- Weld, fabricate, and modify equipment when necessary.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Provide technical support and guidance to farmers and operators regarding equipment usage and best practices.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in agricultural machinery technology.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in an agricultural setting.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Technical school or certification in diesel mechanics preferred).
- Certifications: ASE Certification or manufacturer-specific training (John Deere, Case IH, etc.) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
- Welding and fabrication skills are an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
