Our client in the construction industry is looking to bring on a full time Accounting Manager. Under the guidance of the CFO, the Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the company's accounting database system. This includes overseeing various tasks directly and through subordinate staff.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision of the Accounts Payable Department and Receptionist
- Accounts Payable tasks: Processing subcontract invoices, validating compliance issues (insurance, Certified Payroll, lien waivers, etc.), ensuring accurate and timely monthly and year-end closes, and managing the annual 1099 filing process
- Accounts Receivable duties: Processing daily deposits, following up on past due clients, managing lien waivers, and ensuring accurate and timely monthly and year-end close
- Maintaining records and entries for daily repair and maintenance work order information for the equipment yard
- Managing fixed assets records on Intuit software for financial reporting purpose
- Assisting the CFO in preparing required reports for monthly bank reconciliation, tax reports, and fiscal year-end audit
- Preparation and filing of quarterly Sales Tax Return
- Performing other assigned duties
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent from an accredited institution, along with five or more years of related construction accounting experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in construction application software such as Sage 300
- Ability to manage data entry records on a computerized database and generate a variety of computerized reports tailored to the company's nee
- Strong mathematical skills including accurate calculations of figures and amounts involving interest, percentages, basic algebra, and geometry
