Agility Recruiting is partnering with a manufacturing company who is looking to bring on a Collections Specialist on a contract basis ASAP! This is a part time opportunity with flexible hours.
As part of our finance team, this person will assist in managing Accounts Receivable and ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Contact customers via phone, email, and other communication channels to follow up on overdue payments for goods supplied.
- Maintain accurate and updated records of all collection activities, communications, and payment status.
- Negotiate payment plans and terms with delinquent customers, adhering to company policies and financial guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Service, and the Accounting departments to resolve billing disputes and customer issues affecting payment.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and prioritize collections efforts based on the severity of delinquency.
- Prepare weekly or monthly reports summarizing collection activities, AR status, and outstanding issues for management review.
- Assist in maintaining strong customer relationships to facilitate prompt payment and resolve payment obstacles.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Collections Specialist or similar role
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and credit management principles.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and follow-up.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently to meet collection targets and deadlines.
