As a Aide you will work alongside the lead teacher and teacher assistant to help create a fun, safe environment with a daily schedule designed to develop children’s confidence and independence. You will help the lead teacher and assistant teacher in guiding these little ones through small groups instruction as they grow their ability to absorb new content and understand increasingly complex information.
Primary responsibilities
Work together with the lead teacher and teacher assistant to maintain a clean and safe learning environment.
Work with lead teacher and teacher assistant to maintain teacher/children ratios.
Develop relationships with families.
Work together with the lead teacher and teacher assistant to communicate with families about the important updates, and classroom activities.
Follow daily schedule
Help with afternoon activities (snack time, big group time, pick up time etc.)
Cleaning up of classroom/ arranging /organizing.
Maintain the physical appearance, health, safety, and well-being of the children.
Additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Coursework or certification in early childhood education, child development, or a related field (preferred)
1 year previous experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting (preferred)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with young children.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with children throughout the day.
CPR and First Aid certification is required or must be obtained within a specified period after employment.
This is a multiple part-time positions with availability 2pm-6pm Monday-Friday. P and C Learning Center takes place in a daycare setting with exposure to noise, outdoor environments, and frequent interaction with children.
