    One of the largest Aircraft Maintenance, Repair and overhaul facilities is hiring A&P mechanics in Rockford, IL. The ideal candidate will have a background line or heavy maintenance checks on commercial or regional aircraft.

    The right candidate can expect a competitive hourly rate based on their experience and background. There is also potential for relocation for candidates who are not local to the area.

    Description:

    Technician I, A&P (Licensed). Responsible for performing intermediate/heavy maintenance tasks without supervision.

    What you will be responsible for:

    • Perform flight control and engine throttle rigging.
    • Able to use FAA approved data (i.e. IPC, M/M, OHM, SRM) proficiently.
    • Insure work performed adheres to high quality standards.
    • Effectively direct the work of less experienced mechanics.

    What you will need to be successful in this role:

    • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), required.
    • Must have minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy maintenance or related experience and/or training.
    • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license, required.
    • Computer keypunch experience.
    • Previous experience in warehousing, handling inventory, and bar code equipment.
