  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Performs extensive electrical, hydraulic, avionic and/or electromechanical systems maintenance
    in accordance with FCC, FAA and company policy and regulations. Responsible for the testing,
    troubleshooting, overhaul and repair of a wide variety of components and accessories within the
    designated discipline to include but not limited to navigation, radar, instrumentation,
    communication, hydraulic and landing gear systems. Responsible for ensuring components are
    completed in the most efficient method possible per manufacturers specifications and customers
    specific needs while maintaining the highest level of quality and safety so as to ensure customer
    satisfaction and maximum profitability. **

    JOB RESPONSIBLITIES**

    ➢ Performs complete operational/functional checks of incoming avionics, electrical
    and/or hydraulic components while determining necessary work scope, quantity
    and type of parts needed if any, labor required and compliance with any necessary
    airworthiness directives, regulatory requirements or customer specific requests.

    ➢ Interprets and follows approved maintenance procedures, principles and practices
    for the repair and recertification of subject component through the use of
    maintenance manuals, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) technical data,
    engineering drawings, technical specifications and other approved or accepted
    instructions.

    ➢ Operates and maintains a wide variety of specialized test equipment, fixtures and
    tooling to include but are not limited to: Digital avionics analysis software,
    oscilloscopes, digital volt meters, signal generators, hydraulic, pneumatic,
    instrumentation, heat exchanger and generator test stands.

    ➢ Inspects completed work and makes serviceable determinations based off of
    prescribed standards, OEM procedures, tolerances and industry practices.

    ➢ Completes and maintains records of all work performed and/or required through
    appropriate documentation, signing/stamping as required, data entry and quality

    ➢ Applies quality control principles on a continuing basis in order to ensure that
    essential quality requirements are met by means of identifying problem areas and
    procedures, opportunities for improvement and taking steps to recommend
    corrective actions.

    ➢ Assists Supervisors and other Management Members in the development of
    technical procedures and internal best practices for the entire team.

    ➢ Prioritizes and manages personal workflow in order to maximize production,
    efficiency and customer satisfaction.

    ➢ Promotes and maintains a clean, safe work environment that adheres to all FAA,
    OSHA, TOSHA regulations and safety protocol. **

    ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES** **

    Education:**

    ➢ High School Diploma or GED

    ➢ Current A&P, FAA Repairman Certificate

    ➢ Graduate of a formal two (2) year electronics/hydraulic technical resident course
    from an accredited institute or have completed significant factory and/or military
    formal training. **

    Experience:**

    ➢ 8+ years of experience in avionics, electronics and/or hydraulic/pneumatic
    systems maintenance. **

    Dependent upon departmental needs:**

    ➢ 6+ years of relevant and recent experience in the modification, repair and/or
    overhaul of commercial aircraft instrumentation systems, printed circuit boards
    and accessories at the component level.

    ➢ 6+ years of relevant and recent experience repairing and/or overhauling
    commercial aircraft hydraulic/hydro mechanical aero structure components.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    ➢ Expert knowledge of complex machinery, tools and test equipment to include their
    usage, maintenance and repair.

    ➢ Ability to determine tooling needs, repair machinery, components and systems
    using needed tools as well as routine maintenance on equipment and fixtures.

    ➢ Excellent communication skills both verbally and written through the use of
    multiple software programs, forms and other media formats in order to provide
    detailed documentation of work performed, status updates and any current
    challenges faced to high-level functionally diverse audiences, some of whom may
    not have a background in the subject matter.

    ➢ Mastery of advanced troubleshooting methods and techniques coupled with the
    ability to isolate faults and perform repairs of a highly complex and unusual nature
    including but not limited to: Component level soldering and troubleshooting on
    multi-layered circuit boards, video, navigation, instrumentation and avionics
    systems. Tooling and fixture design, fabrication, maintenance and repair.Hydraulic and pneumatic systems overhaul, testing troubleshooting and repair.

    ➢ Highly developed knowledge of open and closed loop hydraulic systems,
    pneumatic, electromechanical, and electrical/avionics theory of operation as well
    as a demonstrated ability to teach, mentor and coach others through OJT and
    cross training methods. Aircraft Component Master Technician.

    ➢ Ability and desire to take on an active leadership role for applying new processes
    and skills to improve the technician functional status quo.

    ➢ Ability to interpret and comprehend manufacturer and FAA approved work
    instructions to include wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, blueprints and
    other approved technical date in order to determine faults recommend corrective
    actions and use sound judgment in determining serviceability of a variety of
    components and accessories.

    ➢ Self-starting individual with the ability to work both independently and effectively
    under pressure with minimal supervision to complete a variety of complex,
    technical tasks in order to meet customer and company deadlines.

    ➢ Advanced understanding of FAA requirements, aircraft industry best practices,
    OSHA, TOSHA regulations, safety protocols with a demonstrated ability and desire
    to follow them. **

    Working Conditions / Environment/ Special Requirements**

    ➢ Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements
    including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.

    ➢ As required by the position, must have the ability to wear a respirator as per OSHA 29
    CFR 1910.134 "Respirator Protection" regulations with no restrictions that would prevent
    the proper use and/or seal of the respirator. **
