    POSITION SUMMARY:

     

    This position prepares and paints aircraft according to manufacturer and customer specifications and trains and develops painters with less experience.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:

     

    1. Mask aircraft for protection from stripper application.
    2. Strip aircraft with paint remover, sanding skin and seal aircraft as required.
    3. Responsible to wash and prepare aircraft using appropriate and approved cleaning solutions.
    4. Prepare surface and apply primer to aircraft for the sanding procedure.
    5. Layout and paint stripes, shapes and graphics per customer approved designs and detail aircraft for customer delivery.
    6. Report problems and work required which is outside of work scope to the Paint Project Supervisor.
    7. Any other duties and tasks as requested or assigned by the Paint Manager or Paint Foreman.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

     

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred and must have 8-10 years’ experience in painting corporate or VIP aircraft.

     

     

     

     

    COMMUNICATION ABILITY:

     

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

     

    LANGUAGE ABILITY:

     

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

     

    MATH ABILITY:

     

    This position requires the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

     

    REASONING ABILITY:

     

    This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

     

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

     

    Order processing software.

    This position requires varied work shifts and overtime as required. Position always requires adherence to King Aerospace appearance standards.
