Position Overview: We are seeking skilled Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanics to join our team in Macon, Georgia. The successful candidates will be responsible for fabricating, installing, and repairing sheet metal components on our fleet of CRJ-200 aircraft, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with all aviation regulations.?
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.?
Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal parts, such as fuselage panels, door assemblies, and other structural components.?
Utilize a variety of hand tools and machinery, including shears, brakes, drill presses, and rivet guns, to cut, bend, and shape metal.?
Perform inspections and assessments to identify structural issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.?
Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations and company standards.?
Maintain accurate records of repairs, modifications, and inspections.?
Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion.?
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in aircraft maintenance or related field preferred.?
Minimum of 3 years of experience in aircraft sheet metal fabrication and repair.?
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.?
Strong knowledge of aircraft materials, hardware, and assembly techniques.?
Familiarity with FAA regulations and standards related to aircraft structural repairs.?
Ability to operate sheet metal fabrication equipment safely and effectively.?
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.?
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.?
Preferred Qualifications:
Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
Experience with Bombardier CRJ series aircraft.
Additional certifications in specialized sheet metal fabrication techniques.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.?
Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.?
Capable of standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.?
Willingness to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to noise and chemicals.?
