Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-oriented Server to join our team at Alamo Cafe. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent customer service and a positive dining experience for our guests. As a Server, you will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Interaction: Greet guests warmly and make them feel welcome. Provide menus, explain daily specials, and answer any questions about the menu.
- Order Taking: Accurately take food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar in a timely manner.
- Service Delivery: Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring orders are accurate and presentation meets restaurant standards.
- Customer Service: Attend to guests' needs throughout their dining experience, refilling drinks, clearing plates, and addressing any concerns or requests promptly and courteously.
- Table Maintenance: Ensure tables are clean and presentable before guests are seated.
- Payment Processing: Present the bill to guests, process payments accurately, and handle any billing questions or issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with hosts, bussers, kitchen staff, and other servers to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.
- Upselling: Suggest additional menu items, beverages, or desserts to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Compliance: Adhere to all restaurant policies, health, and safety regulations, including proper handling of food and beverages.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including server stations and dining areas.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience as a server or in a customer service role is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Appearance: Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Flexibility: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry items up to [weight limit, typically 20-30 pounds].
- Knowledge: Familiarity with restaurant POS systems and food safety regulations is a plus.
