As an Assembler Operator II at Houston, Texas, US, you will be trusted to perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to nonrepetitive production assembly operations and subassemblies such as socket bonding, plastic joining, component assembly, wrapping, material packaging, and product testing!

    In this role, a typical day will include:

    • Operating manufacturing packaging equipment that packages materials or products by inserting them into containers or filling containers from spouts or chutes.

    • Monitoring, evaluating, and adjusting packaging equipment to improve quality and efficiency.

    • Restocking machines with packaging materials.

    • Applying basic computer skills to access online resources and complete online training: Email, Workday, VEEVA.

    • Following good manufacturing practices, such as good documentation practices.

    • Reading, understanding, and following all Work Instructions, (MAP's, SOP's) at all times.

    • Conducting quality inspections on products in accordance with quality specifications.

    • Packing, wrapping, securing, or labeling containers.

    • Working on the assembly line and placing components in accurate sequence or may interact with automated production equipment.

    • Reworking or reprocessing assemblies and subassemblies.

    • Having a positive attitude and working in a team environment.

    • Functioning in a high-paced environment with minimum supervision.

    • Material handling tasks requiring the usage of handheld devices used for inventory transactions in the warehouse management system.

    • Operating automated equipment.

    • Resolving minor equipment issues.

    • Equipment and line setup, creation and handling of quality data, and line clearance activities.

    • Functioning as a backup to the Line Lead and training others on basic operations.

    What you’ll bring to Alcon:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent

    • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.

    • Work hours: One of the following shifts:

    Day Shifts:

    1. Mon – Thur, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM or Tues - Fri - 6:15 AM - 4:45 PM

    2. Fri - Sun, 4:15 AM - 4:15 PM; Every other Thurs, 4:15 AM - 3:45 PM

    3. Mon - Wed, 4:00 AM - 4:00 PM; Every other Thurs, 4:00 AM - 3:30 PM

    Night Shifts:

    1. Mon – Thur, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM

    2. Mon – Thur, 4:15 PM - 2:45 AM

    3. Mon-Wed, Every Other Thur 4:15 PM - 2:45 AM

    4. Mon- Thu 5:00 PM - 3:30 AM
