Position PurposeThe Knits Intern will assist the Knits team with daily tasks and responsibilities. RESPONSIBILITIES:Generate digital stitch artwork layouts for factories to follow and make samples on IllustratorDo color ups or digital mockups on PhotoshopDrape and sew garment mock-ups for fittings and factory referencesCreate paper/ digital patterns based on draped mockupsAttend prototype fittings to assist with dressing/ take notesSteam & hang garments. Do minor alterations when needed.Hand/ machine knit/ embroider swatches for design meetings and factory reference to expand knit vocabulary and skillsHelp to assemble physical design boards for meetingsHelp to update digital boards weekly on InDesignHelp create and maintain organization of samples, yarns, trims, and general knit areaREQUIREMENTS:Ability to receive academic creditBA/Coursework in Fashion Design with some general knitwear knowledge of stitches/ yarns/ gaugeStrong knowledge in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesignAbility to drape on mannequin and sew on machineAbility to hand flat machine knit, hand knit, crochet and patternmaking is a plusAbility to learn quickly and retain processesPrevious internship experience in knitwear is preferred
