  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    CSRs help maintain a high customer satisfaction level by promptly responding to questions and working to resolve and prevent issues. Process, route, and schedule new orders within the required timeframes. Update logs. Coordinate with Receiving, Shipping, VAS, and Billing Departments. Reports to Account Manager.

    Ø Regular communication with customers

    o Respond to requests promptly

    o Follow up on outstanding issues

    Ø Process new POs

    o Communicate with Customer to ensure all necessary information has been received

    o Verify goods are available, and allocate goods from inventory

    § Resolve shortages

    § Hot containers: Note on shipping log, and email Receiving Manager

    § Special Projects: Create work-orders, notify VAS Operations

    o Print shipping labels, pick tickets, and packing slip for distribution to Operations Managers

    o Create and print BOL(s)

    § Verify correct quantities (pallets, cartons, and eaches), load number, weight, and freight terms. Include any required notes under “Special Instructions”.

    Ø Route PO

    o Ensure retailer deadlines are met

    o Inform Shipping Manager of special requirements (such as consolidating POs, floor/pallet load, etc)

    Ø Arrange carrier pickup

    o Follow up to ensure timeliness

    o Contact carrier to address missed pickups

    Ø Maintain shipping log, and submit to Account Manager by 1pm

    Ø Maintain open order report (OOR)

    Ø Close order in WMS

    o Send signed BOL to Customer

    o Send ASN (if needed)

    Ø Communicate with Billing Department

    o Send copies of BOL and pick tickets

    o Submit any work-orders

    o Reconcile chargebacks

    Ø Review and maintain current knowledge of routing guides and requirements

    Ø Perform other tasks as requested by supervisor(s) and/or Management

     

    Qualifications

    Ø Basic computer skills

    Ø Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

    Ø 3+ years routing experience in a 3rd Party Logistics environment

    Ø Knowledge of EDI, scheduling, routing, and retail labeling standards (UCC128 shipping labels).

    Ø Extensive knowledge of shipping and routing compliance for retailers such as Amazon, Kohl’s, Wal-Mart, Target, etc.; Thorough understanding of routing requirements and processes

    Ø Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS)

    Ø Good verbal, written, and electronic communication skills

    Ø Strong organizational and time-management skills

    Working Conditions

    Generally works in an office environment but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting. Occasional overtime required. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually average to moderate.

     

    Physical Demands

    While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear clearly. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, reach with arms and hands, and climb or balance. Vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision.
