    Senior Safety Specialist - Demolition Company - Base Salary to 130k/year - Orange, CA

    • Our client has been a leader in the Southern California demolition and remediation industry for the past 25 + years. They provide major demolition and environmental remediation services for the commercial, industrial, entertainment, and government sectors as well as cost estimating for developers and general contractors. Our client is committed to complying with the safety and logistic requirements required to work on projects, including but not limited to site-specific training, individual task training and Health and Safety requirements.
    • Currently, they are seeking a Senior Safety Specialist to join their team due to growth. The Senior Safety Specialist will oversee and implement robust safety programs that mitigate risks, promote a culture of safety awareness, and uphold regulatory requirements. The expertise of the Senior Safety Specialist in hazard identification, safety training, and incident management will be instrumental in safeguarding our clients’ personnel, subcontractors, and the public throughout all project phases.

    Responsibilities:

    • To develop, implement and monitor Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Programs, and Procedures.
    • To assist in complying with current health and safety legislation and/or regulations with the objective of ensuring that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to protect the safety and health of learners, staff and visitors.
    • To increase health and safety awareness at all levels within the organization.
    • To investigate and report on all serious/critical personal injury accidents and to assist in the investigation of all accidents/incidents.
    • To investigate and report on complaints of hazardous working conditions.
    • To respond to employees’ safety concerns.
    • To conduct, as necessary, the safety inspection of any jobsite.
    • To act as liaison with all related governmental bodies and regulating agencies.
    • To coordinate the training of personnel in areas of safety, including first aid, CPR, accident prevention and investigation, work place inspections and other matters related to implementing safety procedures in jobsites.
    • To assume other duties as may be assigned.
    • Some travel regionally will be required.

    Qualifications:

    • MUST HAVE CHST, STSC, CSP or ASP credentials
    • 5+ years’ experience in a Safety Manager or similar role within the construction industry.
    • Construction industry and demolition experience is required
    • OSHA 500 construction certificate
    • Proficient in MS Project, Excel, Word & Outlook
    • Must be a High School graduate

    Compensation:

    • Base salary in the 110k – 130k/year range
    • Company vehicle and fuel card.
