Licensed TX Architect - Light Industrial Commercial - Base Salary to 140k/year - Houston, TX
Our client, a well-established real estate development company specializing in light industrial parks and self-storage facilities, is currently seeking a Licensed TX Architect with commercial experience for a fully remote position.
Responsibilities:
Plan architectural layout and prepare detailed architectural design and layout drawings for light industrial business parks, tenant finish-out, and self-storage facilities (high volume)
Prepare specifications and related documents for submission to governmental authorities
Prepare building material interface details for review by senior personnel
Prepare architectural designs and construction drawings using CAD
Coordinate work and collaborate with other disciplines (project manager & 3rd party GC)
Review submittals by suppliers and subcontractors for compliance
Provide technical direction and manage subcontractors
Work with governmental officials on the review of submitted plans per codes
Manage multiple projects (30+) simultaneously (mass production) and meet deadlines for project submission
Assist in the preparation of change orders
Participate in and foster openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction for the work environment
Proactively take appropriate action without requiring continued direction or guidance
Oversee / coordinate Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical engineers (MEP) to facilitate projects
Qualifications:
Degree in Architecture & Licensed Architect for the state of Texas required; additional states NC, SC, & FL or other states licensure helpful
5+ years of Project Design architecture experience with a preferred background in light industrial/commercial sectors (high volume/ mass production); Self-storage a plus!
Experience with Revit or AutoCAD
Technical knowledge of architectural concepts, techniques, materials, and construction methods. Working knowledge of planning, and control methods.
Familiarity with construction practices and economics.
Current knowledge of architectural industry & regulatory codes and standards
Skill in assessing the scope of problems and developing cost-effective, timely and practical solutions.
Fully remote (work-from-home) position. The ideal candidate will reside in San Antonio, Houston, or Austin for understanding of jurisdictional requirements.
