    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY The Payroll Coordinator position reports to the Director of Payroll, is responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing for multiple U.S. divisions using ADP Payroll. Ideal candidate will have a strong payroll processing background. Experience within a midsize multi- division environment, as well as exposure to benefit and other HR areas is a strong plus. The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for data entry and maintenance as well as preparation of reports for management utilizing a variety of systems all working to support the continued growth and success of Alpha Baking Company.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensuring timely payment of employees by computing wages, deductions, commissions, distributing checks
    • Collecting and verifying employee and timekeeper data
    • Maintain weekly payroll balancing
    • Prepare weekly payroll for transmittal to ADP
    • Maintain New Hire records by recording new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, merit increases; tracking vacation, sick, and personal time
    • Reconcile union pension/dues accounts to forward to union
    • Manage garnishments, child supports, and payroll deductions
    • Process 401k new enrollments
    • Accomplish human resource department and company mission by completing related results as needed
    • Maintain Time and Attendance System
    • Process timely requests for payments for employer/employee sponsored benefits
    • Run weekly management reports for distribution
    • Performs other duties as required.

     

    REQUIREMENTS Specific Qualifications (items are required unless otherwise noted)

    • Must have 3 years of payroll processing experience
    • HS Diploma or GED required
    • Bachelor degree preferred
    • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Proficient in ADP Payforce
    • Good working knowledge of accounting practices and tax laws
    • Ability to analyze information easily
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to key quickly and accurately
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Well established interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to integrate policies and procedures.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with both internal and external parties.
