POSITION SUMMARY:
Since 1997, AlphaStaff has delivered HR outsourcing solutions to thousands of small and medium-sized businesses across the country, as well as some large organizations. AlphaStaff is looking to hire an Employee Benefits Administrator, responsible for interfacing with AlphaStaff clients, employees, and other customers by answering and resolving benefit plan related questions and issues in a timely, professional manner, while directly supporting the general benefits operations of the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate and coordinate plan changes, open enrollment, and acquisition integration of benefit plans for new and existing clients, and to plan participants. Explain complex policy and coverage information in easy to understand terms.
- Answer, research, and respond to internal and external benefit inquiries. Work with designated carrier representatives to resolve complex benefit issues including but not limited to eligibility discrepancies, claim payments, Qualified Medical Child Support Orders (QMSCO), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), and employee benefit plan interpretations.
- Ensure all benefit related documents are thoroughly reviewed, completed, and processed in a timely manner.
- Assist with various projects and assignments to continuously improve departmental efficiencies.
- Reconcile monthly statements for various employee benefits plans.
- Pre-qualify prospective clients on Client Sponsored Plans (CSP) and Master plan(s).
- Conduct audits, troubleshoot problems, and present solutions for a variety of situations.
- Prepare employee benefits and financial illustrations, along with PowerPoint presentations.
- Act as the point of contact for 3rd party relationships in the market.
- Request Employee Benefits Cost Master and provide to internal Account Executives or clients for signature.
- Work closely with the Employee Benefits Implementation team to implement new groups seamlessly walk them through the hand-off process.
- Update CSP and Master plan(s) renewal details for assigned clients and deliver to AlphaStaff’s sales team.
- Maintain notes, client data, and related updates in the CRM, Salesforce.
- Work closely with Account Executives to create and update collateral materials for CSP and Master plan(s).
- Configure new client set up and implement enrollment portals specific to client needs related to employee benefit program offerings.
- Facilitate presentations; demonstrating capabilities of the benefits portal to new clients.
- Analyze data provided by clients and seek clarification and additional data, as needed.
- Administer client data implementation timelines by coordinating with internal subject matter experts and team leads to ensure that deliverables are met.
- Conduct new implementations and benefits renewal for clients including online enrollment technology reviews, open enrollment updates, and testing of automated enrollment platform components.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree or 3 to 5 years combined equivalent of work experience and education.
- 2 years of benefits administration experience preferred.
- Computer/tech savvy including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills a plus.
- Knowledge of employee benefits underwriting.
- Carrier, agency or PEO experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Supplemental & Worksite products.
- Knowledge of alternate funding strategies a plus.
- Active 2-15 insurance license preferred.
- Experience with Salesforce.com a plus but not required
