About Us:
At Jackson First Alert Rescue Squad, we’re a small-but-mighty nonprofit ambulance service with a big heart and an even bigger mission. Our team is growing, and we’re looking for compassionate, hardworking go-getters who are ready to tackle the exciting challenges of working in emergency medical services. Whether it’s General Transport (GT) or 911 emergency calls, every day is an opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re on the hunt for Drivers/EVOs (Emergency Vehicle Operators) who are ready to roll up their sleeves and make an impact. If you’re the kind of person who thrives under pressure, loves helping people, and has a hunger to grow, we want to hear from you!
You’ll start by working 12-hour shifts focused primarily on General Transport (GT), ensuring patients get to their medical appointments or facilities safely. You’ll also get the opportunity to assist as a third crew member on 911 calls, learning alongside experienced EMTs.
Job Experience Requirements:
Driving Experience: A minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience (preferred).
Customer Service Skills: Experience interacting with people in professional or high-pressure environments is a plus.
Healthcare Experience (Optional): Prior exposure to the medical field or emergency services is beneficial but not required—we’ll train the right person!
What You’ll Be Doing:
Transport Patients: Operate emergency vehicles safely, ensuring timely and secure patient transport.
Assist EMTs: Work alongside EMTs to provide compassionate patient care during transports.
Support 911 Calls: Gain hands-on experience by assisting as a third crew member on 911 emergency calls.
Be a Community Advocate: Offer empathy and support to patients and families during difficult times.
Maintain Vehicle Readiness: Ensure vehicles are clean, stocked, and ready for the next call.
Grow Your Career: Complete EMT school (required), with tuition deducted over time, and advance into an EMT role.
What’s in It for You?
Salary: Starting at $15/hour with a pay increase once you’re certified as an EMT.
Career Growth: Transition into an EMT role with increased pay and responsibilities.
No-Strings Tuition: EMT school is fully paid upfront by us, with tuition costs deducted gradually from your paycheck—no contracts, no long-term commitments.
Trainings included:
BLS/CPR Certification
Infection Control Training
Bloodborne Pathogens Training
EVOC/CEVO Certification: Complete an 8-hour course (on us!) to ensure you’re road-ready.
Real-World Experience: Work on both General Transport and 911 calls, gaining valuable skills and knowledge in emergency services.
Supportive Team Environment: Join a crew that feels like family—we’ve got your back every step of the way.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
Heart of Gold: You’re passionate about helping people and making a difference in their lives.
Hardworking Hustler: You’re dependable, motivated, and ready to take on challenges headfirst.
Ready to Learn: EMT school is part of the deal, and you’re ready to commit.
Team Player: You work well with others and keep calm under pressure.
Driver’s License: A valid Driver’s License with a clean record is required.
Schedule:
You’ll work 12-hour shifts, primarily handling General Transport (GT), with opportunities to assist as a third person on 911 calls. Flexibility is key—expect some nights, weekends, and holiday shifts as part of the job.
