Job Opportunity: Pre-Admission Testing Medical Assistant at Mountain View Surgical Specialists
Mountain View Surgical Specialists is looking for a skilled and compassionate Pre-Admission Testing Medical Assistant to join our team at our outpatient surgery center, specializing in pain management procedures.
Job Overview:
As a Pre-Admission Testing Medical Assistant, you'll play a key role in preparing patients for their upcoming procedures. You will assess patients' health history, conduct necessary tests, and collaborate with our healthcare team to ensure each patient is fully ready for their procedure. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and clinical expertise are essential to ensuring the best possible care for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments of patients scheduled for surgical procedures to evaluate their physical and emotional readiness.
Review patients' medical histories, including pre-existing conditions, allergies, medications, and prior surgeries to identify any potential risks.
Assess and document current medications, advising on adjustments when necessary in consultation with the healthcare team.
Educate patients and their families about the procedure, including preoperative instructions and potential risks.
Conduct pre-admission calls and post-operative calls to the patients.
Work closely with providers, anesthesiologists, and other professionals to create individualized care plans for each patient.
Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all assessments, test results, and communications are documented.
Follow infection control protocols to minimize risks, and screen for any contagious illnesses before surgery.
Monitor patient safety, addressing concerns like allergies, blood thinners, and fall risks.
Qualifications:
Certified Medical Assistant.
Two or more years of experience in a pain clinic setting.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
Strong assessment skills, proficiency in venipuncture, and knowledge of diagnostic tests.
Attention to detail and the ability to ensure accurate documentation.
Compassionate, patient-focused approach with the ability to alleviate patient anxiety.
Full time: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM MST - 4:30 PM MST
