    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provides support to the Production Team in order to meet the needs of our customers. Works closely with all plant coworkers to ensure that Amcor’s quality standards are being upheld.
    • Identifies opportunities to improve the operation, maintenance of equipment, production systems and informs management of improvements.
    • Performs preventive maintenance work, troubleshoots and repairs machinery and equipment in a timely manner, including correcting issues which affect quality.
    • Determines and acquires all materials and parts needed for the PM’s being performed. Ensures that the PM paperwork and computer entry are completed accurately. Creates work orders for parts, tasks and issues that were not addressed but still need to be completed on the next PM or sooner.
    • Dismantles machinery and mechanical equipment to remove defective parts; repairs and/or replaces the defective parts, using hand tools and power tools.
    • Monitors inventory and keep parts stocked as needed, includes informing appropriate personnel for ordering parts. Keeps parts room organized. 
    • Performs machine and equipment change overs.
    • Define and control the process for blow molding, injection and packaging operations. Focused on creating a quality container. 
    • Modify and troubleshoot equipment using PLC software with a high degree of competency.
    • Read electrical schematics and identify symbols and control circuits with a high degree of competency.
    • Provide support in troubleshooting PLCs and controls cabinets.
    • Work closely with plant IT personnel to maintain/modify SCADA systems as needed. 
    • Daily reviews, completes and closes out open work orders in a timely manner. Updates work orders with part numbers and requisition numbers. 
    • Maintains cleanliness of all blow mold equipment, the maintenance shop and rebuild area, the base rebuild area, and mold storage areas. Leads 5S projects in these areas to organize, arrange and maintain a professional looking workplace.
    • Communicates with team via radio that must be worn continually. 
    • Must be willing and able to learn new equipment.
    • Must be willing to remain on an assignment until a job is completed or until released by their Lead, Supervisor or Manager. 
    • Performs building maintenance as needed.
    • Participates and trains operators on regular basis.
    • Ensures that machines are running efficiently before the end of shift, or information is passed on to an individual who can repair the machine in a timely manner.
    • Works safe, addresses safety issues, and complies with all applicable Federal, State, local and company safety, health, fire, environmental, quality and general ordinances and policies. Completes monthly safety requirements on time on each month. 
    • Abides by and enforces Amcor’s GMP, HACCP and product safety policies.
    • Performs other related duties as directed by the Site Manager or Lead and performs other duties as assigned that may not necessarily fall within the scope of the duties outlined above.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Strong skills in basic mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatics
    • Demonstrated troubleshooting and repair skills on production equipment.
    • Demonstrates industrial-level electrical & PLC skills, including reading ladder logic and motor control schematics.
    • Ability to troubleshoot 12, 24, and 120V control wiring as well as 480V motor control circuits.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of blow mold, injection mold and/or packaging equipment/processes
    • Prior formal training and/or work experience in a maintenance trade
    • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed and perform on-call duties
    • Desire to learn and develop within the maintenance field

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

    Preferred: Technical School Diploma
