  • Responsibilities

    JOB OVERVIEW 

    • **The Pouching Operator will operate the pouch machine in a safe and controlled manner while obtaining high operating standards for quality and productivity

    **

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Set-up and operate machine to meet product requirements

    • Troubleshoot equipment and product issues

    • Perform and document quality checks and testing

    • Keep area clean and equipment in good working order

    • Conduct trial runs, monitor machine workflow and pack finished goods for shipping

    • Assist in preventative maintenance of all machines and auxiliary equipment

    • Assist with all Inspector/Operator functions including product inspection, packaging of product, area clean up, quality testing requirements, operating machine through break times, etc.

    • Effectively communicate activities and issues to others at shift change

    • Monitor and direct the activities of the Inspector Packer and advising guiding as needed

    • Train Inspector/Operators and Inspector/Packers to a comfortable level of proficiency that will allow them to run through breaks and fill-in as an Operator as needed

    • Ensure proper and accurate set up of the pouch machine

    • Ensure machine is operating according to process specifications

    • Record production information in SAP

    • Complete other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Supervisor

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

    • 1-2 years flexible packaging equipment experience preferred

    • Technical and mechanical knowledge of bag/pouch machines preferred

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Proficient mathematical and measurement skills. Knowledge of metric conversions.

    • Mechanical knowledge of and ability to adjust gauges, scales and hand tools

    • Alert state of mind to avoid safety hazards

    • Pouch/Bag making and film handling fundamentals

    • Solid verbal and written communication skills

    • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential

    • Demonstrates organizational skills

    • Read dimensional graphic templates in both metric/standard and apply to finished product

    • Basic computer skills

    • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs

    • Standing up to 12 hours per day up to 5 days/week

    • Occasional twisting, turning, or bending to move items up to 50 lbs

    You should be proficient in:

    • Production Setups
    • Blueprint Reading

    SALARY INFO:

    $18.75 - $18.75 / HR
