    Job Description

    $12.75 + DOE - WORK FROM HOME!

    This is an entry-level medical claims processing position. The Claims Processor I provides internal and external customer service in the Claims department. Successful candidates will have basic knowledge of medical terminology, billing and coding, and viewing medical claims forms. Experience working in a medical office setting is preferred.

    KEY RESULT AREAS

    • Maintains production minimum of 25 claims per hour.

    • Maintains accuracy of 99% financial, 97% payment and 95% procedures.

    • Responsible to keep assigned clients at 5-day turnaround time.

    • Processes priority claims, call trackings and return pends.

    • Completes call logs, skimmages and pends on a daily basis as assigned.

    • Assists Claims Team Lead and other Claims Processors as needed.

    • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

    • High school degree or equivalent.

    • Knowledge of medical and dental terminology.

    • Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding preferred.

    • 1-2 years’ prior claims processing or billing experience preferred.

    • Good problem solving and analytical skills.

    • Types 45 wpm, 10-key by touch, and computer knowledge.

    • Able to demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.

    • Excellent customer service attitude and professionalism.

    • Demonstrate Accuracy, Customer Service, Timely Turn-Around (ACT).

    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

    • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

    • Ability to work efficiently, perform multi-tasking, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.

    • Possess a high degree of integrity and discretion, as well as the ability to adhere to both company policies and best practices.

    • Ensure compliance with security practices and procedures, including HIPAA and HITRUST standards.

    • Ability to efficiently and effectively perform the Key Result Areas with or without a reasonable accommodation without posing a direct safety threat to others or self.
