    OVERVIEW:

    Our client, a US Fortune 250 company and a global Medical technology corporation serving customers in Clinical Labs, Health care research & Pharmaceutical industry, seeks an accomplished MEDICAL BILLING/CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE.

    *** LOCATION: REMOTE (SHELTON, CT 06484)

    *** DURATION: 12+ MONTHS WITH POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION

     

    NOTE: OPPORTUNITY WILL BE REMOTE 100% REMOTE UNTIL THE MONTH OF OCTOBER (DATE MAY CHANGE).

     

    SUMMARY:

    Position requires Customer Service experience and the ability to input data accurately into computer system. Medical office or medical scheduling knowledge a plus. Must be detail oriented with good interpersonal and customer service skills. Assists/directs patients with questions and inquiries. Works under the daily supervision of the Team Lead or Supervisor.

     

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Obtains current patient information from established and new patients. Accurately enters/updates patient information in scheduling system.
    • Identifies payer source and verifies insurance eligibility. Assists patients with completion of paperwork when necessary.
    • Reviews Scheduling System for needed updated demographics and consent forms.
    • Schedule’s appointments. Identifies patients by date of birth and name in computer system. Creates new account if patient not in the system. Schedules and re-schedules appointments as needed.
    • Routinely demonstrates superior customer service skills.
    • Answers telephone in a timely and polite manner, preferably within three rings. Communicates with customers in a courteous, professional, cooperative, and mature manner.
    • Accurately takes messages and conveys information to recipient. Transfers call to physicians and nurses when medically indicated. Protects/observes patient confidentiality per policies and procedures.
    • Accurately imports registration documents into patient’s electronic health record.

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience with patient information/claims system reimbursement processes.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent Communication Skills.
    • Bilingual preferred.
    • Ability to effectively interact with physicians, patients, and other staff members.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of proper, safe, efficient usage of current office equipment/software.
    • Medical office or medical scheduling knowledge.
