Job Overview
As a Safety Data Analyst within the Safety and Training department, you will support company goals and objectives related to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Operations. You will work both individually and as part of the safety team to provide service to internal customers. Your role will involve developing and improving processes, procedures, methodologies, and systems relevant to statistical reporting, including preparing documentation, reports, and spreadsheets.
Responsibilities
• Assist with the development and management of company EHS databases.
• Provide timely and accurate reports related to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), incident data, and vehicle safety data using company and external databases.
• Validate data to ensure integrity and consistency across multiple report and data sources.
• Serve as the company point of contact and subject matter expert on company EHS and Incident Management System (IMS) databases and provide training to internal customers.
• Work with external vendors to develop and maintain databases.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize systems for improved accuracy and timeliness of data reporting.
• Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to data management.
• Accurately manage company EHS records.
• Produce annual OSHA logs.
• Maintain company EHS SharePoint sites.
• Maintain company SDS database.
• Maintain company MVR reports.
• Assist with all areas of safety as required by the needs of the department.
• Perform other duties as required/assigned to support department goals.
• Travel to remote locations as needed (less than 20%).
Qualifications
• Experience in the development and implementation of Incident Management Systems is highly desirable.
• Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications and SharePoint.
• 5 years of experience developing and maintaining incident management systems and databases.
• Preferably, experience in an EHS team within the Oil & Gas or Utilities industries.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with visualization software (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau) through experience and/or formal education.
• Experience working with database and analytic tools, including report and dashboard development.
• Experience with Riskonnect is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
• Ability to prioritize needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to develop metrics, reports, and visualizations to provide feedback to internal customers.
• Use data visualization programs, tools, and techniques to generate dashboards, reports, and presentations for data storytelling.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and PowerBI as well as other web-based applications.
• Attentive to detail and data accuracy; meticulous.
