    Job Summary:

    Working within a team, the Analyst will be responsible for providing exceptional client service in the public municipal utilities industry (water, wastewater, and stormwater) through various multi-discipline projects, such a financial planning, cost of service rate and fee setting, bond feasibility studies, and miscellaneous financial-related projects.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Analyze data and develop financial models using MS Excel to support financial planning, cost analysis, and feasibility studies

    • Assist senior team members in executing project tasks and deliverables

    • Contribute to benchmarking surveys and industry research efforts

    • Prepare and edit reports using technical writing skills

    • Maintain professional communication with clients and colleagues

    • Participate in research activities to support proposal development

    • Consistently deliver results on time and with accuracy, demonstrating the ability to contribute effectively to project outcomes

    • Develop understanding of financial planning portion of modeling, rate structures, bill calculations, and other financial planning documents such as Annual Reports

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree (finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or other related fields)

    • Experience in MS Office, particularly with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

    • Familiarity with financial planning documents and financial statements, including typical income statements, cash flow statements, balance sheets, etc.

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Critical thinking skills – ability to formulate multiple solutions to problems, test hypothesis and develop solutions based on analysis.

    • Ability to work under multiple project managers with completing deadlines and deliverables

    • Ability to communicate effectively through writing, speaking, and visual presentation

    • Willing and able to travel overnight as needed

    • Experience and/or interest in the utility industry or environmental science

    • Ability to work within a small team that may be spread across a broad geography

    • Ability to work independently on specific assignments once direction is provided

    Preferences:

    • Master's degree (finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or other related fields) or equivalent experience.

    The salary range for the Analyst position is $60k to $70k. Compensation depends on education, experience, and location.
