Outreach Program Assistant
Role Summary
The Onsite Program Assistant provides both onsite programming support primarily at interim housing shelters. The role focuses on educating residents on pet care, coordinating access to veterinary services allowing clients to successfully reside in interim housing with the goal of transitioning to permanent housing with their pet(s).
Key Responsibilities
Conduct or assist all PNP in-person programs at multiple shelters across Los Angeles.
Gather, enter and maintain accurate and up-to-date participant and pet information for PNP and shelter record keeping
-Organize and manage services between residents, shelters and veterinarians with effective, timely communication via text, telephone, email and in person
Prepare accurate and timely end-of-month shelter reports to support funding
Support new volunteers through training and answering questions
Communicate effectively with shelter staff, vet partners and residents regarding PNP programs using all methods including emails, text, calls, newsletters and flyers
Contribute regularly to website, social media, and fundraising efforts through content creation.
Assist with program improvement and development.
Ensure materials are available when needed by conducting pet supply pickups and storage
Support PNP programs, fundraising, events and activities.
Additional responsibilities as Assigned.

Flexibility: Adaptable to an ever-changing environment and maintains strong work ethic
Customer Service: Ability to maintain a calm, respectful manner with residents experiencing difficulty.
Additional Requirements:
Experience or knowledge with unsheltered people and unsheltered dogs and cats.
Basic knowledge of dog or cat pet care.
Experience with common apps, Google Docs, and scheduling tools.
Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
Over 18, two recent character references required
Insurable personal vehicle, personal cell phone and laptop. Usage reimbursed.
Teaching experience helpful but not required
Experience in working with our homeless population a plus.
Dog training, Vet tech or Grooming experience a plus.
Physical & Time Requirements:
-Outdoors during various weather conditions.
Driving to different facilities daily. 20% driving
Depending on your experience 20-40 hours per week, with availability Tuesday- Saturday
Day time to be onsite availability between the hours of 8am - 4pm
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $17.25 - $25.52 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
