Responsible for the safety, production, quality and schedule performance of the 2nd shift Foundry Finishing Department through direct supervision of production (Union) personnel. Responsibilities will include:
+--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Prepare and monitor daily and weekly shift work plans and staffing in | | conjunction with Production Control; monitor and assure proper staffing | | of trained personnel in all key operational areas of his/her Foundry | | department; immediately appraise the Foundry Superintendent and the | | Foundry Manager of any significant quality or productivity problems to | | assure immediate corrective action. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Provide direct supervision as well as motivational and training support | | to all hourly Union employees in their department. Perform in a | | leadership role in implementing the policies and directions of the | | Foundry Manager as implemented by the Foundry Superintendent, as well as | | Company policies and goals for production, quality, efficiency and | | safety. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | In coordination with Production Control, Quality Control and Purchasing | | personnel, achieve perform-to-schedule goals. Required Skills
High School Diploma required. BS or BA in Business Administration, Metallurgy, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or similar technical discipline will be a plus. Professional certifications would be beneficial. Bilingual English and Spanish or Vietnamese is desired.
Minimum of 2+ years of actual foundry operations supervisory experience in a high-volume, foundry with a Union work force of at least 100 workers. Work in an ISO environment would be a plus.
Must have strong work ethic, outgoing and assertive personality, and must have excellent team-building skills with subordinates as well as with peers. Professional PC literacy skills in MS Word and Excel are required. Personal hands-on experience with specific foundry operations.
