    Job Description

    Under general supervision, The Appliance Mechanically install's, services and repairs stoves, refrigerators, dishwashing machines, and other electrical household or commercial appliances, using hand tools, test equipment and following wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications. The Appliance Mechanic II also performs maintenance and repair on other equipment such as building, kitchen, and vehicle exhaust systems, air compressors and fluid distribution systems, specialty test equipment and follow swiring diagrams and manufacturers specifications.

    TYPICAL DUTIES:
    1. *Connects appliances/equipment to power source and utilizes test meters, such as wattmeter, ammeter,or voltmeter,observes reading son meters and graphic recorders. 2. *Examines appliances/equipment during operating cycle to detect excess vibration, overheating, fluid leaks and loose parts and disassembles appliances/equipment and examines mechanical and electrical parts.
    3. *Traces electrical circuits, following diagram and locates shorts and grounds, Using appropriate meters,calibrated timers,thermostat and adjust contact points.
    4.*Cleans and washes parts,using wire brush,buffer,and solvent to remove carbon,grease and dust.

    5. *Replaces worn or defective parts, such as switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers,defective wiring etc.
    6.*Repairs and adjust equipment Motors,reassemble appliance,adjust pulley and lubricates moving parts,using hand tools and lubricating equipment.
    7.*Works on all types of kitchen equipment to include garbage disposals, grills,steamers, dishwashers,ovens,fryers,waste reduction equipment,refrigeration equipment etc.as assigned. 8.*Be able to work on call after hours and/or on a rotating schedule.
    9.*Frequent Travel To And From Job Sites.
    10.*Diagnose And Repair Equipment Issues In A Timely Manner.
    11.*Submit Parts Orders For Repairs/replacement.
    12.Performs Other Duties And Special Projects As Assigned.

    Qualifications

    •Knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials common to the appliance and HVAC trade. •Ability To Read And Understand Electrical Schematics.
    • Communication skills to provide procedural and factual information, and respond to questions from customers, employees,and others.

    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and to present information and respond to questions from vendors,customers,management,and others.
    •Ability to multi-task and respond quickly to emergencies.
    •Knowledge of basic business English including vocabulary and spelling.
    •Flexibility To Adapt To Changing Work Priorities.
    •KnowledgeofISO9000mayberequired.
    •Ability To Work Independently With Minimal Supervision
    • Minimum of 3 years industry experience in at least commercial kitchen equipment repair and refrigeration.

    PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS:

    Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or with out assistance:

    • Maneuvering in and around equipment

    • Bending, kneeling, stooping ,reaching, crawling

    • Pushing,pulling,andliftingupto35pounds

    • May be required to climb ladders and/or step stools

    WORKENVIRONMENT:

    Work is performed at a customer’s location in office, shop, warehouse, or outdoor environment. May require driving to and from worksite locations. Equipment can be located in crawl spaces, rooftops, and outside facility. Employees may be exposed to hazardous and/or toxic substances, electrical shock, noise from equipment, and depending on external weather conditions, wind, rain, cold, and heat.
